It's Been a Hell of a Year

As the year winds down, I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting, not just on what I did, but on who I became along the way. 2025 was a year of momentum, discipline, adventure, and clarity. It wasn’t perfect or easy, but it was full. Full of growth, lessons, and proof that when you stay consistent and keep showing up, things move.

This year marked the biggest year yet for Long Draw Pizza. A reminder that steady work compounds. Early mornings, long days, learning as we go, adapting when things change, and continuing to serve people from all over the world in a place we love deeply. Watching that business grow while staying rooted in Terlingua has been one of the most grounding parts of my life.
One of the year's most meaningful experiences was walking the Camino. Miles and miles of quiet steps, reflection, discomfort, and clarity. It stripped things back to the basics like movement, gratitude, and presence. That walk reminded me that growth doesn’t always come from doing more, but from slowing down enough to listen.
I also watched the Mundy Out West community grow, which has been incredibly humbling. What started as sharing life, business, and desert moments has turned into an authentic connection with people who value adventure, discipline, and building a life that feels good. That part matters more than numbers ever will. But I'm looking forward to creating more content in the new year and meeting more of you. It has been one of the greatest joys to meet people in person.
Academically, I’m proud to say I’m 80% finished with graduate school, which has been a season that required focus, late nights, and commitment. I should be done this Spring.
Add to that another year of running, another year of sobriety, and travel to four different countries: Jamaica, Spain, Portugal, and Mexico. It’s clear this year stretched me in the best ways. Each place, each mile, each quiet moment brought clarity about what I want more of and what I’m willing to let go of.
More than anything, 2025 reinforced a simple truth: consistency changes everything.
As I look toward 2026, I’m excited; not because I feel pressure to do more, but because I feel aligned.
My goals:
Continue growing Long Draw Pizza with intention
Continue growing in my real estate consulting business
Finish my Master’s degree
Keep building and nurturing the Mundy Out West community
Grow Long Draw Prints and our merchandise business
Continue traveling and exploring the world
Learn Spanish and deepen my photography skills
Commit to another year focused on health, fitness, and movement
And most importantly: get outside more
More fresh air. More trails. More moments that remind me why we chose this life in the first place.
I’m deeply grateful for the wins of 2025, not just the significant milestones, but the quiet ones too. The routines. The discipline. The moments of clarity that only come when you keep showing up, even when no one is watching.
As we step into a new year, my focus is simple: keep building, keep moving, keep choosing the life that feels good.
Here’s to another year of growth, adventure, and intentional living.
Always cheering for you,
M
